S40 stalls, now won't start
Hello
I have a 2002 S40 1.9T that recently (last month or so) has been occassionaly lurching and stalling at low speeds - CEL illuminates, and USUALLY, the car restarts right away, and will drive fine for days. This morning, CEL came on at about 20 mph, car stalled, and would turn over, but not start. After about 10 tries, the engine caught, but stalled immediately. After each crank attempt (seemed to be plenty of juice, starter sounded fine), I was hearing a rapid 'clicking' sound from the fuse/relay box under the hood on the driver's side.
Don't know if it's related, but my digital clock/odomoter display has been staying on with the key removed. Is that normal? I can't remember if it's supposed to stay on - I didn't think so.
With all the bad weather in Dallas, I can't ger AAA to get to the car for a while, so I thought I'd post here. I'll take it to the dealer, but thought this might point to something specific.
Thanks!

Thanks for your responses.
Dealer (NOT my regular shop - had issues there before, but turns out was the closest place to have the vehicle towed) pulled the codes. Apparently it's potentially both a defecticve 'engine speed sensor' and/or 'engine coolant temperature sensor'. Actually, I waited three days for the speed sensor replacement part, and once that was installed, they now believe it's probably also the coolant temp sensor. Or maybe not, they won't know until they install that, too.[:@] So far, $725.
I realize these things aren't clear-cut, but my guard is up with these guys.
