On a 2002 S40 had some recent work done where they had to disconnect the battery which disabeled the stereo. Searched the forum here and have tried the following:

1. Pulled the fuse
2. Disconnected the battery again

Received the code from the local dealer. At first it asked for the code which we did not have at the time, now we just get OFF displayed on the stereo. How do we get it to ask for the code again?

I believe that it is just a timer that you have to wait (forget how long) and then you can try the code again.

put the key in the ignition, turn it to accessory, leave it for 1-2 hours, the radio will reset to "code"

 

Thank you. We did the key on gig, after 2 hours we finally got back to the Code and all is good, for now.
