The P0014 is the cam reset solenoid according to VIDA. It could either be bad or clogged or the timing belt is off a tooth. This code sets when the exhaust cam does not move to it's commanded position.
If the code was stored as "temporary" then the check engine light could go out on it's own if the fault was not present during the next drive cycle. If the code is stored as "permanent" then the check engine light will not go out until the code is erased.
I have read a thread where the poster said he could access the end of the damper door and motor after removing the glove box. There were hints that one could rig up a temporary fix to position the door where you needed it for the winter. Of course VIDA says to remove the dash. The same thread I read had pictures of the dash removed and the broken door end. Lets hope yours is not so bad.
