im new to the fourms and had a few questions about my 01 s40. the car has 126k miles non turbo, the car has kind of a rough idle and makes a whistling noise other then that the car had no running issues, when i relieve pressure from the oil cap the whistling noise goes away. today the car was running fine i stopped to buy gas when leaving the gas station the if i went over 3k rpms i would get a message that said urgent maintnence drive slow. any help or information would be great. im not new working on cars im a volkswagen guy. thanks

I'm new to the forum also. I had the exact same problem with my 2004.5 s40. I took mine to the dealer and they said it was the pcv valve. It did the exact same as yours. It idled rough and it had a loud belt sounding squeal but when I pulled the dip stick it went away. They ended up replacing it for me for free. I wish I was more help. They told me it was a common issue and that was the reason they fixed it for no charge.
