Screeching, whining, whistling noise at idle
This actually started in another thread, but thought it would be best by itself.
Drove my car to work one morning and arrived hearing a constant squealing noise when the car came under 1.5k revs or lower. The pitch of the sound didn't change with engine speed, but was quieter at higher rpms. The dealer knew what it was when I drove in. He said it wassome sort of vacuum component made of a material that cracks easily, apparantly. The sound was also accompanied, in my case at least, with a shakey idle and gyrations when slowing to a stop. The crack in the component allowed air to seep into the vacuum system, causing the engine to run rough.
Anyway, if you hear that sound, that's what it is. . . which is funny because you didn't acually hear a sound in this thread. Yet I digress . . .
