I have a 2000 s40 that I believe needs to have the ignition coils replaced (flashing check engine light, weird pick-up when accelerating). I took it into the shop 1st thing this morning, but they can't get to it until Wednesday. Is it safe to drive?

Also...when I was parking this morning, I noticed that the car makes a single popping sound when I turn hard to the left in drive and it does the same when I go from reverse to drive as I bring the steering wheel back to center.

I'm hoping it's not two problems on the same day. Any help would be great, thanks!

 

I would not really drive it.
Maybe the spring seat/bearing plate is bad.
