Default HOME SAFE LIGHTING!!

Hi there.. I recently needed to use the feature called Home Safe Lighting.. or "Exterior Courtesy" lights on my 1999 V70 and they don't seem to activate at all. When i stop the engine, remove the key, the steering locks, the interior lights are coming on as a confirmation that my key has been removed and my ignition switch is "good".. hehe! But when i come to pull the high beam lever, i can only get my high beams to "blink" once!

I tried everything so far.. Removing the key while holding the h/b lever.... removing the key.. lights off then pull.. lights on .. pull.. LOL!! Still no luck!

I called 2 Volvo Dealers so far.. AND volvo Canada and they couldn't really tell me anything but "yah .. it's not working"

Is there anybody who experienced the same thing.. and yes my switch has been recalled and fixed.

Is there something that you cam program.. because i know that looking at some tech documents you can find that the delay can be adjusted (30, 60, 90 Secs) .. i was about to wonder if my delay was "off".. I also noticed that there is no relay clicking whatsoever when i pull the lever.. i would assume that there would be a relay.. since there is one for everything in that car..

Thanks in advance..

Serge!

Haven't ever seen this problem. I wasn't really aware it was avalible on the 1999 V70.
I thought it came out on the 2001 V-70.

I believe you are correct TECH. 2001 was the first year on the '70's". I have that feature on my Volvo and if only his brights are turning on then he does not have the "delay" feature.
