I have a 2004 S40 with the turbo 4 in it. I hit 33000 miles and was thinking on starting to do the service myself.

My real question is about resetting the Service Indicator light. How is that done at the dealer (i.e. special tool, etc.)?

Thank You

I also purchased the VADIS program and will be using that as a guide but would like to know more about the indicator light reset. Not really covered in the manual.

Search in the S40 section for Service Light Reset and you should find it no problem.

Thank You Tech.

So everyone knows, the process is as follows:

1. Push and hold the trip computer reset button (Ignition off)
2. Turn ignition to on position (still holdong the trip computer reset)
3. Hold for additional 10 seconds.

The computer does 3 things. Turns on the Service Light at 750 hrs of operation, 7500 miles, or 12 months.
