Default silly question

i am going to do sway bar links on my 02 v40, and i was wondering, if its easier to do it, while the car is on the ground, or in the air. the reason for asking is, because i have the chance to use a lift, in our service dept. do i need to play with lift, to have the tires touching a bit, to align the sway bar?

It is easy with the car on the ground. Never tried it on a lift.

Just the links? It can be done either way. Everything is easier on a lift though.

So i got the sway bar link today, and i opened to check it out, and i noticed, that there is not a place right by the boot, to counter the joint, when you are tightening the nut. i have done the sway bar links on my 850 couple of times, and there is always a place to stick i think 11 or 12 wrench so you can counter it. Is this normal, would it start spinning, as i am tightening it, should i use the impact air gun? Anybody done that on the s40/v40 before?
