Soaked carpet no more
Wow I finally figured out where that darn water was coming from and soaking my carpet. After vacuuming gallons of water from the front and rear passenger floors, i finally found the problem. It turns out it was my sunroof drains after all. The tubing had come loose from the black rubber grommet on the driver side, and on the passenger side the whole thing had come out. That's why condensation stayed on the windshield as well as the carpet being soaked. That is a real problem if you let it go a long time. My car was acting funny. It didn't want to shut off when I turned the ignition off. The blower motor would continue to run when the vehicle was shut off. My key switch didn't won't to turn all the way to the off position and even my CD player was acting up. I'm pretty sure that water running behind the dashboard caused all of those problems. I actually had to improvise the set up for the passenger side. I could not get that grommet back in the original hole behind the dash so I bought some 1/2 tubing from my local hardware store and order some hose connectors and routed it through the floor and it is working fine. The weather man was calling for 3 or 4 days of rain in my area and I figured a perfect time to test before I put the panel and carpet back in place. We got the rain and it stayed dry. I can actually see the water going through that clear tube I installed and you would be surprised the amount of water that goes through the sunroof drains. I was doubting along time that it was the sunroof drain tubes, until I took off the b post panels and saw the condition of the drain tubes. I can put it all back together now and I'm happy again...

Hi dogface03, yes I dealt with it for over a year and i just couldn't pin point where the water was coming from. I had checked the sunroof drains before. I blew air down the drain holes in the sunroof, thinking that was enough and kinda dismissed the drains. I took off the cowl and checked the A/C drain line and all was good. I had even took off the pillar panels to visual see the drain line and though they were good. I researched more and finally took off the pillar panels again and pulled on the lines a little and boom they had come out of the rubber grommets hidden behind the dash. That explained my issue. I couldn't get my hand behind the dash without removing it. I wasn't about to tackle that. I just rerouted the drain tubes to the floor on the side of the dash and worked fine. Get you some 1/2 clear tube and connectors and drill a hole in the floor. I waited to a good rain came before i put the panels and carpet back so i made sure it worked and it did. You would be surprise the amount of water goes through those hose lines during a rain. When those drains are stopped up or loose think about the amount of water that goes elsewhere in your car. I hope you get your daughter's car straighten out and hope this helps.
