Hi,
I was hoping for some advice on my 2006 s40 T5 AWD. I bought it in December with 83,000 miles on it and only a couple weeks later started noticing a “kick” when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. This kick would also occur when going from a stop to a start and also occasionally when slowing down I would feel a sort of trembling of the car. I went and had the transmission fluid replaced, had the control arms replaced, and had the front left axle replaced. The guy who did the axle said that the right one was loose and moving but I did not have that replaced yet.
The interesting thing is that is problem is very sporadic. Many times I wont get the kicking at all and the car drives perfectly and other times it will start off perfectly but then kick in at some point during stop and go driving. The car has no issue on the highway. Also I have never had a check engine light kick on. Any advice or people have a similar situation? THANKS!

 

Sometimes the transmission mount will cause hard shifting. That is pretty cheap and easy to replace.

 

Thanks! Unfortunately I already had the transmission mount checked and the guy said it was fine. Any other alternatives?
