Squealing just starting
So the other day my 2004 S40 started a squealing sound. I did some searching and found a few threads saying to pull out the dipstick and see if that stops the noise. Well it did, as well as the sound of pressure being released. From what I have read it sounds like the EGR regulator is bad, also it may be under some kind of extended warranty since it was a defective part.
Has anyone had this happen to them recently and gotten it fixed through the dealership? I don't wanna have to pay the hundreds of dollars to get it fixed if the fault is on poor manufacturing. As well, if anybody has got it fixed through the dealership and covered under warranty do you have any paperwork about the recall that I can reference to the dealership?

Ya your right. Sorry was mixing up some terms I came across while reading up on the problem.
As for the actual problem I called up the dealership and they fixed it for free. So if anyone else is having that problem call them up and get them to fix it. Saved a bundle on it over trying to get it fixed through another mechanic.
