i purchased this '01 S40 3 years ago, recently the SRS light is on, what kinda prob will make that light on??

 

Probably a sensor is bad. You can have the codes pulled and it will indicate what problem is.

just got bak from teh dealer, they said there r no communication between the TCM, SRS, and the ABS. computer cant even access into that.

 

went back to the dealer, the tech found out that one of the airbag wire was corroided. he cleaned the corroided wire, SRS light went off. and got the program upgrade spent $285 and $190 for labor. he also found that the fuel pressure regulator need to be change, the ETC sensor and thermo sensor need to be change and that will cost another$800
