Question Stall while driving. Can't get it turned over.

My 00 s40 1.9T stalled on me in the middle of traffic yesterday. I got it back home and ran the code reader to it. Three codes; P0455, P0101, and P0171. I am assuming that the 0455 code is from my fuel pump I replaced last weak and that the 0171 code is the MAF not communication properly, or at all, with the ECU. Any throughts? I just need to get it running.

Did it stall and die ?? Did it restart or did you tow it home ?? Does it turn over and not start or does it not turn over ??

Turning over is turning the key and the battery supplying power to the starter and the starter spinning the engine. Not turning over is when the starter isn't spinning the engine. It's very different from not starting.

Yes it stalled and died. I had to tow it home and yes it does turn over. I concluded that my new fuel pump was bad and the MAF sensor was on its last leg.

Is that a guess? P0455 is not related to the fuel pump. P0171 is not for the MAF not communicating, it is for lean condition.

Alright here is the verdict. When I changed the fuel pump I swapped the longer rod that was on the old pump to the new pump. This provided me with false information of the fuel level. Basically my stall was due to not having a drop of gas in the tank even when the information stated a quarter of a tank. Heads up for DIY enthusiasts, keep the rod that came with the new pump and don't swap rods.

I know that the P0455 isn't related to the fuel pump. I believe the p0171 is caused by the P0455 code because the MAF sensor isn't communicating to the ECU properly.

Edit: P0171 related to P0101 not P0455
