hey guys just want to know if there are any spare points in the back of my S40 headunit to run cables from and into my amp? keeping in mind it is a standard sound system.

Nope.

I did see on another forum where some guys were hacking the basic system amp to add an aux in and I believe an aux out. Other than that you might try something like a Rockford Fosgate 3SIXTY. I believe Alpine has one too and there may be others.
