I just did the transmission swap on my S40 by using a transmission from a low mileage salvage car. Took the car for a test drive yesterday and found that when the car warms up it will shift very hard when going from Park to Reverse or Neutral to Drive. During normal driving the shifting feels fine. Two new motor mounts (driver side on top of trans and front mount under trans - need rear mount now). New T-IV in the auto gear box before turning the key. Fluid was a little high initially but I drained some off and it appears to be fine now. I'm wondering if I can buy some sort of lubricant that will soften the shifting to reverse or drive.
