Default Turbo Lag

Is there any easy way to get rid of or minimize the turbo lag on the T5?

There really shouldn't be any turbo lag on the T5's. The turbo is pretty small so it spools very quickly and gives you full tq at very low revs.
But you might want to double check that your wastegate is properly set at 3psi.

I just seems to hesitate sometimes when I'm going about 30 mph then I nail it. it doesn't happen every time though. Can the dealer check the wastegate psi settings?

A couple things could make a difference in that situation.
You have a GT or a 6speed?
If you have a manual, What gear are you in? Say, if you're in third, you'll get a little lag while the rpm's build and the Turbo starts to spool. If you're in second the Turbo will already be spooling so there will be no lag time.
With an auto you'll have the downshift time plus the build up of rpm's then the Turbo will start to spool.

I think with what you described, if you stay in a gear that will keep the Turbo spooling, your lag time will be minimumal, but your MPG's will go down the drain...

Default turbo lag

Hi, I have owned Saab 900 Turbos and I have 3 turbo cars right now...1992 GMC Typhoon, 2008 Chevy truck and my C70. The C70 never really felt really turbo charged when I needed power. I scaned the system and a code for the turbo boost value needs replacing.
It's a $40 part on-line and now the turbo really kicks in. The value has 3 hoses and very easy to replace. I would give it a try before going to the dealer.

Default Typhoon...FAST !!!!

At the time Road and Track and other cars mags got better times in the 0-60 and 1/4 mile. I have installed a cold air intake and 3 inch exhaust so mine breaths better and is fast than my 2003 porsche Boxster " S " which is about 10 years newer.
I have had mine for about 15 years with 120,000 miles with no major repairs.

Thought about running Code59 with a bigger turbo? You can run up to 30lbs boost.....

I tried to get it to run on a DIS engine but could never make it work. Some of the Sy/Ty guys are making some serious horsepower.
