Default Turn Signal Switch wiring

My son has a 2007 Volvo S40 and the turn signal lever was broken off the column. When this happened it damaged the connectors between the turn signal lever assembly and the board it mounts to and plugs into. I attempted to remove these damaged connectors and solder wires between them. The board right behind the steering wheel these plug into had 10 pins so I soldered 10 wires there. The turn signal assembly had 10 positions also but only 9 of them actually had a circuit path to solder to. I kept the 10 wires in order (leaving the 1 connection that didn't have a circuit path). This car has the message computer that allows you to read through the warning messages with the button on the turn signal assembly. Everything works with one major issue, the bright lights are stuck on and when I pull back on the lever to toggle them off it actually triggers the left turn signal. Does anyone know what the pinout/wiring diagram should be? Is it possible the board the turn signal/wiper assemblies plug into is damaged? I was told those boards can't be swapped between cars, does anyone know of a company that repairs those boards?

I also have the airbag warning on but I haven't used a scan tool to check and clear the codes. I'm wondering if that might just be from disconnecting the batter and removing the airbag/steering wheel.
