hey

im actually not from the states so im not sure if you even have this model but i just bought a 98 S40 2.0liter LPT (low pressure turbo), and i was wondering what it would take to put a T4 turbo on there? i doubt volvo did a separate engine for my model, or did they?
could i just change the ECU and Turbo or would i need a T4 Engine. i just thought it would be like the old Bimmers or other brands where they make a highend version and then just swap the engine but leave everything else for the lower model.

You should be fine swapping the turbo and ECU.

Here in the U.S. we only have I believe it is the T4. We only have one option here. The S40 didn't start till 2000 either.
