Default Upping the Boost!

My 2000 Volvo S40 reads 9 pounds of boost after redoing the gauge for a better read. My question is how much boost can i raise it up to using stock internals SAFELY if its possible.

15-17 PSI should do it. Anything higher and your out of the turbo effeciency range and potential damage to the car can be done. To be on the safe side I wouldn't run more then 14-15 PSI.

Also your ME7 and that means no MBC (Manual Boost Controllers) for you. To raise your boost you need an ECU upgrade.

I'm pretty sure it can hold 15PSI.

or you can listen to someone who drives an s70...im not standing by that...15 is a lot for a tiny 12t setup...its up to you...this is a nice forum site for basic volvo, if you went to s40concepts.net most of the guys there would tell you 12 is plentiful considering the factory maxes it at 8-9 psi....

And a 13g isn't that much bigger then a 12t. And mine is running 15 no problem. I said 15 max no more.

So you up the boost, how do you get more fuel, at the right mixture, in the cylinders?

Im new, but your computer/ecu should take care of it, along with the MAF and what not it will detect more air comming in and in return it will throw more fuel in.
