ok so i got a couple of problems fixed with my 01 s40 this week and there are still vibrations during red lights .... what could be the cause of the problem it didnt used to vibrate while idleing and now it does it all the time i changed one coil out already... could it be the other coil or something

I'm not sure what year your S40 is, but on early models, the front motor mount collapses and the engine vibration can vibrate the entire car. Assuming there are no engine problems, I would check out the mount.

ok i dont really know where the mount is but ill look for it and my s40s a 2001

 

Also check for any codes set by the ECM (autozone, advance, etc have an OBD 2 reader for free). If you are getting a misfire code then look at the coil-on-plug connectors. The 2 wires into the connector can back out when the rubber like substance holding them in goes south due to the heat. The result is when you push the connector onto the COP the wires back out slightly instead of seating on the COP pins. The test is to use needle nose pliars to gently push the wires back into the connector so the wires seat fully on the COP pins. A dab of RTV keeps them from backing out again.

The above happened to me after a spark plug change at 100k miles on a 2001 S40.

 

i fixed it awhile ago it was the coils
