Hey guys, i think i may have a barring problem on my front wheel. It makes a cracking sound everytime i turn the wheel. Before i head to the garage i was wondering how much this is going to run me ball park figure lol so i have an idea in case the mecanic decideds to add a few zeros to the bill

Sounds more like a bad CV axle to me. The good news is it's not a big job to swap one out, unless its splines are frozen by rust into the wheel bearing unit). Volvo axles are hideously expensive, while many Chinese-made axles are junk. I've had good luck with Cardone remanufactured axles, though there's some element of risk there, but they're a small fraction of the price of a new Volvo unit (on my V50 at least). FWIW, the axles I bought were under $100 each, and I don't think a shop should charge more than an hour's labor to swap one out.
