Default 01 S60 - Can't access front left turn signal

I have a 2001 S60 which I need to change the front Driver's side turn signal. When I open the hoodI am able to easily change the low beam & high beam bulbs, but I can't seem to get access to the amber turn signal bulb. It is a very tight squeeze & I don't want to damage anything by trying to force it out. Is there a step by step instruction or chart anywhere that can show how to change the amber turn signal bulb? Can anyone please give me advise? Thanks!

You just need to sneak in there and turn the socket to unhook it and remove it.

Sometimes a screw driver can be used to help push when you are turning with the other hand.

Ok.... was finally able to replace the amber left turn signal, & now I am getting the message of "left turn signal bulb failure". I know I installed the correct bulb #1157A. I also bought a new amber turn signal bulb for the rear & replaced that one too. I noticed if the car is left alone for a few hours, then I drive it again, the failure message doesn't appear till after about 15 minutes. Also, the bulb works properly tillI get the failed message. Is this a relay problem? Any advise? Should I start a new thread in the forumfor my new situation? Any advise is greatly appreciated.

The socket is most likely bad.

I love my volvos and all volvos, but you need to get used to the idea that you will never not be having problems with some light somewhere on you car. I've owned 3 S60s years '01-'04 and never had one that didnt have multiple problems with the lights.

Default Bulb failure

New to Volvo ownership and I'm getting the same msg about bulb failure (not all of the time) for both sides. Seems to be a wiring issue or ground. Hit a bump and turn signal flashes very fast. Where can I find front turn signal sockets? 2001 S60 base model.
