My mom is about to trade in her 01 loaded s60 in great condition w/100k. All maintenance is up to date. She'll let me have it for $4500. It's really just going to be a third car as my kids are close to getting their licenses. It looks like I'm going to need to do the timing belt/tensioner replacement. In general, how much will this cost? I haven't read any overwhelming support for the 01 but it really will only be driven 6-8k a year. My parents have been Volvo fans forever but I also know how much they spend every year in maintenance. Is this a good investment or a potential money drain? Thanks for any input.
