02 s60 awd automatic
hey guys i'm new here so i'm going to do the best i can to explain what i need advice on
i have an 02 s60 awd automatic, it's the 2.4t i believe but not a t5 or anything, i'm looking into tweaking boost, maybe a few pounds more, just for a slight performance increase
now i've skimmed through a few things, and i'm looking to do as minimal as i can, i don't wanna be buying flashes and stuff(unless i have to and at that point i'll just say f*** it haha) but i can get my hands on boost controllers and gauges etc. from my work for free, i just wanna know what works, what doesn't work, what to avoid etc. any advice?

From what I have read online there are no cheap fixes for more power on any of the newer models. The ECU will adjust the timing accordingly if it senses boost outside its parameters making the car run worse. Too much boost and it will throw codes. The ECU flash allows for higher than stock boost levels among doing other things.
What works? Just check out the forums at Swedespeed or volvospeed. The most active users generally have their specs listed in their signature tags. Replacing the paper air filter with a K&N is the first step for many, and it's cheap. It will not filter as well as a good paper filter but it moves more air. Modding the air box to bring in more cool air would be something you could do on your own. Beyond that, the ECU and DP and exhaust might be the next move. The Ipd tune will make 14 psi and add 30-40 hp safely. I don't know what the other ones are capable of.
