02 S60 Newbie
I just bought my first Volvo, an 02 S60 with 50K. I love the car and it's in great shape, but at my first oil change, the dealer recommended a few service items that I would have NEVER considered on any of my older cars. Just wanted to get an opinion here.
Coolant Flush with Thermostat - The manual says that it should never be necessary, let alone already.
Engine Oil Flush - I've always thought that was just a waste of money as long as frequent oil changes were completed.
Any thoughts? I'm excited to be on the forum.

welcome to the site.
At 50k, I wouldn't reccomend a flush with a new thermostat. At most, just a drain/fill. Unless you are in an area with extreem temperature changes and/or you track your car alot.
You don't need an engine oil flush. Just a simple drain and fill. I use Mobil 1in all of my cars.

I wouldn't worry about those things. I also bought an '02 S60 a few minths ago. I recently took the car for a tire rotation/oil change/courtesy check/etc. and nothing was said to me about those service items...
