Default '02 S60 Strut recommendation?

Have a leaking strut and need to replace. What is a recommended brand? What other parts should I replace along with the struts?
Thx,
RT

The spring seats should also be replaced. For God's sake, do NOT get Monroe Sensatrac struts. I had to learn that the hahd way.

Any thoughts on Mehl vs Biestein vs. Sachs?

Sachs = oem, Bilstein is pretty much the best you can get but you going to pay $$ for it....

If you can afford it, go for it I say..
If not OEM is the best mid-priced solution

for lower end, I actually have heard decent reviews of the monroe but never used myself

did the mount kit give anyone a hard time? seems like the original equipment had a flange that looked like an X keeping the rubber coated mounting kit from being taken off the old strut that almost made me buy a new spring but I hacksawed it off and put the new strut back in but that mount kit was a b%#@ to figure out and yes it was a Monroe

I didnt install mine, but the rubber part you were talking about had to be replaced on mine (Volvo only part at about $35.00). Cant remember what it was called. I let the old struts get so worn out that it wore the rubber tight off the plate and and was rattling when I went over bumps.

Ive been very happy with the MOnroe's for a few months now. Maybe the disappointment that was posted in post 2 was because of the installation.

Had them replaced at Kauffman Tire, and it was a nightmare from the get-go. Popping sounds, stiff ride, awful.

The guy who installed mine had no issues. The ride was very stiff for about the first 500 miles but after they broke in, the ride is nice. Ive never had any popping sounds.
