Default 03 Trunk Struts

Anyone know any good after market trunk struts that are better than OEM? The OEM look like POS with the plastic head on the ball and socket joint. One of my struts broke the head and won't stay on the ball. Seems stupid to have to replace a strut that should last 10-yrs due to some stupid plasticy design!

Didn't look, but can just the ends of these struts be replaced or does the whole thing have to go. Seems like the ends should be screwed onto the strut rod for easy replacement since they are obviously a weak link.

Not sure about that, but I just recently went through the same thing. I did buy two replacement struts online for $37 each. I guess it would have been nice to save even more but that seemed so reasonable to me that I didnt research anymore.

Take a look at my post if you are interested in more.

Where did you find yours? I've been searching and haven't found any yet. Everyone says "temporarily" unavailable! To me that sounds like a rash of failures and all the spare stock is gone, maybe? I still find this kind of failure to be inexcusable on a 2-4 year old car. It's obviously a high stress point and they make it out of thin plastic! Poor design and a waste even if they are cheap. Throw a perfectly good metal strut away due to chintzy plastic ends?

These guys were really great, very helpful, and competitive pricing.

At one point I had reason to call and they were very cool over the phone.
