04 s60r
I found a 04 S60R with 65k mi. Their asking 17k for it. I've never owned a
Volvo before. I'm intrigued by the R.
Any pros and cons to the S60 or the R model.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Great Cars! Great looking, fast and handle nicely for the price point! Like any Volvo they can be relatively reliable as long as they have been maintenanced on a timely manner. I would say with any Volvo, make sure to ask for maintenance records. On oil changes, most stealerships change the oil with a Synthetic Oil every 5-6k on the Turbos. Most owners will tell you that should be changed 3,500-4k so as not to Sludge up the oil. On a Turbo model, auto transmission is good but the fun is with the 5speed
. That's good mileage for a 03, but seems a little high on the price. I would say 14,500-15,500 on the money but clean low mileage R's are sometimes hard to find.... Here's a good review if you want to look at one..http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/..._awd_road_test

go for it man, you wont regret it, just check comparable prices and negotiate as hard as you can... Lovely car to drive, really felt a world apart from my s80...
ps.. the newer models (06+) have 20 more ft.lbs of torque in 1st and 2nd gear.. but that will bump your pricerange too much i suspect
