Default 2001 S60 A/C Issues

I recently bought an 01 S60 T5. I have had a problem with turning the car off, removing the key, etc. like normal and later returning to find the A/C running even though the car has been off. Could this be a code or sensor issue or am I simply just missing a switch or something?

These cars have a function called an after blow function.
The inside fan will kick on usually within 50 minutes for about 15 minutes to dry the evaperator.

They do this so that the evaperator will not grow mold on it.

tech is right on the money.

I have a 2009 S60 2.5T and it does the very same thing when I use the A/C. Asked the dealer about it and they said it is indeed a feature to dry up moisture so you do not get mold.

I find that mine will come on even over an hour after I shut off the engine.

I'm in Jacksonville and your profile says you are in Orlando. Keep in mind that we will likely experience this much more than other parts of the country due to the climate.

Thanks for the help Tech! I feel kind of foolish, as I bet that is on page 1 of the manual! I am, however, grateful that there is no expensive repair bill involved.

PeterJax...Man am I sorry I am in Houston too! Not my favorite place to live at all, Orlando would be much nicer....closest comparison place to Houston might just be Mars...people AND climate.

Thanks for the replies.

Jake
