Hello, I did a search but could not find any recent info, my 2002 S60 needs the oil trap replaced, quoted $1361.00 for the trap and & $1031.00 for the gasket. Seems pretty high to me but I’m new to Volvo’s. The quote is from a dealer. Does this sound right, everything I’m reading is around $500.
Thanks

Do you have a itemized list for what you are getting for $2392?
Parts needed to replace only an oil trap are mostly what is shown here

Sometimes other expensive PCV parts are used (the heated pipe under the manifold is one of them) and other basic stuff (oil, filter, coolant, etc.) will be needed as well as labor - But there can be many expensive complications if the system is extremely clogged. Sometimes you have to remove the oil pan to clean it and the lower oil drain passage from the block to the bottom of the pan. If there are oil leaks on the front or rear of the engine caused by a clogged PCV system those can get expensive - you can end up with a new cam belt, tensioner and idler, water pump while you are there, and VVT gears leak also. So I could see $2400 to replace all of that -
