Greetings to all.
My current project is the PCV service on this 02 S60 non turbo. During teardown and prep of the components, I noticed there is a thin steel gasket on the intake manifold where the throttle body goes on. I had to gently get under it with a razor blade to remove it without damage. Prior to commencing this job I was getting the P0507 and P0300 codes after a throttle body cleaning on the car.. The car has 262 K on the clock and I'm not the first owner so I thought doing the PCV service would be good maintenance for the car. To my good fortune, not a lot of sludge in the oil trap and no blockages. I was able to clean everything out and gently blow shop air thru all of the passages without issue. My question is: Should I replace the steel throttle body gasket with the original, the Fel Pro aftermarket gasket, or both? The steel gasket is maybe 0.10" thick but showing signs of pitting and corrosion. This job was quite labor intensive, and being a 20 year old car with high mileage my goal is to do it right the first time. I don't want to have to disassemble this agian for something small I can get to now while its all apart. Waiting for the kit to arrive from FCP, and debating sending the throttle body to Xemodex for a rebuild. Any suggestions would be most appreiciated.
Thanks.
