2002 S60, Trunk lid not latching
It's fairly cold here in Pittsburgh. This morning it was about 10 F. Yeah, I've seen colder but 10 is cold enough for me.
Drove to work this morning and needed something from the trunk. Unlatched the trunk (heard the noise) and pulled up on the lid but it was stuck. After three good tugs it opened, I got my stuff, and closed the lid.
The problem is that the trunk lid won't latch again. I tried tripping the latch with a screwdriver and it won't lock. I squirted WD-40 into the mechanism but that didn't help. I checked the emergency release and I tried cycling the key a number of times. No joy.
Any thoughts?

Well, the problem resolved itself. I was ready to hit the latch mechanism with hot air from a hair dryer to see if that would help but did a test slam of the lid and it latched. Opened and closed it a few times and all is well ... for now.
