2002 Volvo S60 - Was going 'limp' up hills, not cranks & wont stat!
A month ago my girlfriend bought a used 2002 S60 AWD. It ran fine, the previous owner said it needed a coil, so we replaced that. Car was fine for a week and a half to two weeks. One day she stopped at my house... went to leave and the car would not start up, even with a jump and after swapping some relays around. All fuses related to fuel or EFI were checked and OK. The next morning I went out and her car started first try. She drove it another two weeks. Then, sometimes going up hills the car felt like it was barely making it. It would rev high, but seriously lacked power. Felt like this 190 HP engine was putting out 60HP.
Anyways, the car drove on after that day. I went to an auto store and used an OBD scanner. 3 codes. MAF sensor, Throttle position, and some control module.
Unplugged the MAF and the up-hill problem disappeared for one drive. Then returned worse, so plugged it back in. Maybe coincidence.
The car has now not started in over a week. I depressed the shrader valve on the fuel injector supply rail and gas comes out each time the key was turned. I measured it with a tire gauge and it shows 45 PSI. The car WILL NOT start, cough, sputter. Even while giving it gas pedal, w/o MAF, w/o air filter. It will fire up on starting fluid / ether.
What is going on? Must be injectors or electronic controls? Or fuel filter? Fuel pump?? Pic attached
of strong pressure at fuel rail.
EDIT If a Moderator/Admin sees this, please change title "not cranks" to "Now cranks" Thanks!
