2003 s60 2.5t what type engine oil
#3
I have a 06 S60 with about 72K on the clock - My dealer ship (and the service manager is a buddy of mine) say standard 5W30 is fine. I have the oil changed every 7000-7500 miles like they told me. I have used synthetics in the past in my 528i and I don't have to change the oil unitl I hit 10K. The dealer said the only advantage is if i want to go longer between chages...
I also hear if you switch from conventional to synthetic you can't/shouldn't go back.
Messes witht he seals ???
Input?

2) regular oil can burn where as full synthetic will not.
3) yes you can go back to regular after using synthetic while it is not recommended, I can tell you from prior experience having gone from synthetic back to standard oil my old 960 wagon started to smoke.....once you use synthetic I would stay with synthetic better protection and does not breakdown like your standard motor oil
