2003 S60 Transponder Key & Remote
Hello all,
I've recently acquired a very decent 2003 Volvo S60 Base.
The only catch so far: No Keys or Remote.
And I've now learned how expensive & exclusive it is to have them made.
I'm continuing in my search of alternative options.
But,
It's looking like I'll just end up towed to the Dealer paying $300-$450 just for 1 Ignition/Transponder Key.
I've contacted 6 or 7 Area Locksmiths, and only 1 claimed he could do it, for $400 on-site. However, he had mostly bad reviews. Some claiming he didn't even have a license to be doing his job.
Anyway,
Can anyone confirm these Part Numbers are correct to my vehicle?
Transponder Key, Cut To Vehicle: #30753444
Key Fob/Remote: #9459368
I'm pretty sure the Key # is correct.
But, I'm getting conflicting info on the Remote. My research shows that # is correct...The dealer claims it's not and that #86851150 is.
Also, I cannot get a solid answer for this question from the dealer;
Can a USED Genuine Key Fob from another vehicle be Re-Programmed to My vehicle?
From what I can tell online, the answer to this is No, as there is a unique code printed on factory/dealer packaging, that is required for programing.
The dealer seems to not be sure and thinks it might be possible...
Question;
Can a Key Fob/Remote AND Receiver (Already Paired) be harvested from another vehicle (Junkyard) and swapped into mine, and fully function, plug and play? or is there still programming required?
I may not even get the key fob right now, as this is all expensive enough as it is...But the dealer said I could save $150 Labor if I have it done with the Key.
I'm located in the Seattle Area if anyone has any Locksmith referrals (That can actually do this).

I physically went into the nearest Volvo Dealer that I was having a hard time getting a reply from~
Less than $250 out the door for TWO Transponder Keys, Cut and Programmed.
Would have been just under $200 for the Remote. Passed on that for now.
