2004 S60R 6-speed manual transmission fluid
It's time to change the fluid in my 6-speed manual, 04 S60R but I can't find out how many quarts or liters going to take. Anyone have an answer on that one?
And what are your thoughts on going Volvo fluid vs Castrol Synchromesh vs Royal Purple Synchromesh. I'm hearing mixed reports on which way to go here.
Thanks.

your car uses synthetic GL4 75 - the owner manual shows 2.1 or 2.2 quarts (2-2.1L) for both the M56 and M66 tranmssions. Given its 2 liters and the factory fluid is already synthetic, I'd just go Genuine Volvo for about $18 per - its probably Castro synthetic relabeled. Stick to GL4 synthetic fluid as some of the GL5s have agents which can harm the brass synchro rings. Is your model AWD?
