2004 Volvo S60 Fuel Pressure
Hello all,
First time poster here, long time Volvo owner. After 10 years with my 1997 850, I finally picked up a 2004 S60 FWD 2.5T with around 88k miles. I had a check engine light come on, which was determined to be the fuel pressure sensor.
I had a few instances where the car seemed like it was going to stall and lose power shortly after starting the car up before the sensor was replaced. It felt like the engine was choking and in one situation, I did lose power.
I read about the recall, but the dealer where it was purchased from and Volvo customer service in New Jersey (even after two phone calls) said my engine did not apply to the recall.
So I bought a replacement sensor online and had a family member install it, but a mechanic later determined it was the incorrect one, so I purchased the part from a Volvo dealer. The new sensor seems to be better. No stalling issues and the gas mileage has improved.
But the check engine light is back on again, saying it's the fuel pressure sensor. The mechanic who installed the second sensor checked the MAF and said it was fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to look next? One mechanic suggested a new fuel filter.
Thanks!
