Default 2005 S60 R - What should I look out for

Hello.

I'm considering purchasing 2005 S60 R AWD with about 95,000 miles on it. What things should I look for or ask about? What maintenance items maybe coming due, due, or over due that I need to be aware of?

Thanks,
Patrick

Timing belt is about due. Make sure the AWD still works before you buy, the angle, collar gears are known to go out. Make sure you get as much service history as you can. Read up on Swedespeed's R Forum about some of the other issues that is R specific.

Thanks for the info and resource. I'll wander over to Swedespeed and check out the forum there.

Overall, is the S60 R a reliable car? I understand that it's used and that, as with all things that move, things break, but, in general, is this a steady, reliable car?

Also join and check True Delta. Per that source, R models need more fixes than non R models. Of course, given 300 hp, part of the problem might be the drivers' right feet!

Volvos, like most Euro cars, aren't cheap to keep or cheap to fix. You won't confuse it with a Corolla, by way of example.
