I just purchased a 2005 S60 T5 2.4l turbo. When I bought a new air cleaner the part I got was a square air cleaner and the one that was installed in the volvo was a round air cleaner.

When I went online to a volvo dealer they show a square air cleaner for the s60 T5 and a round air cleaner for a 2005 2.5l R model.

what is the correct air cleaner for a 2005 T5?

Sound like someone upgrade the Air cleaner to R cone filter. Not a big deal just Better performance and gas mileage. In theory . Does it look like anything else is done in the engine bay??

 

The engine bay is completely stock.. No upgrades

I thought the 05+ s60 T5's had the same airbox as the r model. The 2.5t has the flat panel filter and the 04 down t5 as far as i know. Also All the 05+ cars have the "r" exhaust manifold.
