2006 S60 Headlight Keeps Going Out
My wife's 2006 S60's left front headlight (low beam) keeps going out. I went to change it, and it came back on as I went to remove it. Thought it was a short or corrosion of the socket, but couldn't find anything wrong and could not get it to go back out no matter what I did. A few days later, light is out again.
So, I replaced the bulb hoping it was a filament that might have been slightly broken. But, then it happened again... and keeps happening every few days. The headlight goes out, I reach in to remove the bulb, and just moving the wires turns it back on. I'm 99% sure it is not a short, as I can't find anything wrong with the wires, and I can't get it to go back out by moving the wires in any way.
Is there some sort of control board that could be causing this issue?
Outside of this, not other lights exhibit this behavior. However, I have had to replace a lot of bulbs in the past 2 years (side driving lights, license plate lights, taillights, break lights, etc).
Any help you can give me will save me a lot of money on marriage counseling!
Thanks,
Hugh (Doldrums)
