Default 2006 S60 new purchase

It has been two months since buying my first Volvo and all I can say is why did it take me so long, been driving for years and this is the first one I've owned, great overall car. It is blk/blk w/ sport pkg; prem & climate, AWD 2.5T, my question is that the dealer says 7500 between oil changes, used too every 3K with all my other vehicles. Bought with 27K, had 30K svc. just a bit ago, now has 34K and climbing.

Any thoughts or comments as to how to best service (mostly highway), follow manual or are there other ideas?

If you plan on keeping your car for any length of time stick with what you know. 3-4K miles between oil changes. You can reset the service reminder message yourself (do a search, it varies by model year). If you drive alot, you might be interested in doing the oil changes yourself as the dealer visits can cost a bit. The synthetic oil is worth it for turbo cars, especially at extreme temps.

Agree with 01, around 3.5K. I would also use only full synthetic oil (Mobil 1, Pennzoil, Valvoline, Castrol, etc.)

I am also a new volvo s60 owner and love it. I have the 2.5T with all the options (not AWD) and had the same concerns. I change every 3K if you use non synthetic. The dealer says to change at 7500 only if you are using Synthetic which is much better anyway for the Turbo. I am going in the middle. I will change mine every 5 thousand miles and use synthetic ($70 oil change).

I agree with others. If you run a good quality synthetic, then the 7500 is achievable. However, dealer changes with dino unless you request something better. Even then they usually offer a synthetic blend. With the dino or the blend, split the 7500 in half and do a 3750. That way the oil change monitor is still somewhat functional.
