Yes, I've searched the forums and the internet but no luck. I have a 2008 s60 that is new to me. Low beam passenger side bulb is out.
I removed the ECU housing, unclipped the wire, finally got the connector off the bulb and got the bulb turned (neither of which was easy).
I cannot get it out. I've ripped up both hands. Twist and pull sounds so simple. Photo was taken with a mirror, and shows the bulb after twisting.
Can anyone help? A male in my household (not a car guy) insists we have to go from the front he thinks the 3 tabs won't go through the openings. It doesn't look like it can turn any more, as there is a screw in the housing that seems to block it. (top screw in photo)
What am I missing?? Is there anything other than line up the 3 tabs and pull straight back? I don't see any retaining clips of any kind. There is a small metal tab but I've tried pushing and pulling to no effect. (tab is at the top of where the connector would go)
Please help an aspiring car-girl out. I've lost an entire day to this seemingly simple task.
It should just turn to the left, about a 1/4 turn or so and pop right out. When I need to do my headlights, I take the assembly out because there is no room back there for my hands. I just end up getting cut up lol. Another reason I pull the whole thing out is because I have pulled the lenses off the adjustment before on volvos by not doing so because of the extra pressure needed to remove and replace. If you look in through the front of the headlight you will be able to see the 3 tabs. And h11 is the correct base, so it is the right bulb in there, so not like it was a wrong bulb that was jammed in to work.
BTW: to remove the assemblies, you need to pull the front bumper.
Thank you so much. I eventually got it, but it was not easy. For whatever reason, the passenger side bulb was much harder to remove than the driver's side.
