Default 2012 s60 t5 engine noise knock or tick ?

I just purchase a 2012 s60 t5 from the auction and when it got delivered it has what appears to be a knock in the engine on cold start but upon idle it sounds more like a ticking noise I posted a video any help on if the motor is junk or something that could be fixed would be great .
Thank you

Does it make this noise while idling? If it does, remove the oil dipstick or remove the engine oil cap. If the noise goes away then the issue is probably the PCV breather system.

I have also quite loud ticking noise when I start the car. Idle goes after start over 1500+ rpm and you can hear the noise quite loud, and as soon as the engine rpm goes down (choke closes, or whatever it is called in these modern cars...) the sound decreases considerably and a little bit of ticking noise remains. When running, if I open the oil cap, suction is quite hard and I think the sound goes away a bit as well.

The fact that the sound decreases right away when the rpm goes down after cold start (well even a warm start here in Florida) makes me wonder how that is related to the sound.

I have a 2017 V60 similar ticking sound goes up & down with rpm’s, constant from startup to off. Was told it was accessory belt tension pulley & had it replaced; sound persisted. mechanic said sound was amplified behind the cover for the timing belt so possibly one of those pulleys(?) brought to dealer & their theory is the “oil trap”. To test this, if you open oil filler cap while the engine is running it should stop. Mine continues…awaiting dealer diagnosis. Happy we got the warrantee on it🤓

Can anyone here advise me on my problem with my 2006 V70 D5, I have the usual diesel rattle but on top of that I have a much louder 'click'.

All running fine with over 40 mpg but very annoying.

The odd thing is it is NOT there for the first second or two after starting.

I have tried the 'screwdriver in the ear' on each injector, all sound the same.

Also it is no different with the oil filler cap off. It's been there for over 5000 miles but is getting louder recently, Many thanks
