2014 V60 D3 Installing additional 12v socket in the boot
Hi my VOLVO friends. Anyone installed 12v socket in the boot (trunk)? I am ok to do this but am not sure about activating it in the computer. I have got VIDA - DICE but I can't find tutorial online how to adapt it. Someone told me it will not work without the activating.
Have you looked at any write ups for connecting a trailer harness? See if etrailer.com has anything. There may be a special fuse just for that as well (that's how our Highlander is set up). I'd also search for some audio install sites to see what they suggest for how to power a remote amp. In the past, I've done a few things including running a wire from the dash under the carpet to the trunk as well as tapping into the 12V for a power antenna (most new cars have the shark fin type so it may not be as easy to get at.
Sorry its not what I am lookin for. I like to install 12 v cigarette socket as an additional power socket inside car. I found kit what is got everything in it but I’ve read that it need to be acctivated in CPU. Not sure how to activate it
IMO, if all you want is power, and you're sure you will not pull power when vehicle parked for longer periods, connecting to battery and a ground should work. Unclear why CPU would need to know - other than unexpected power drain, like leaving the lights on (automatic timed OFF).
