I just bought an S60 and it didn't occur to me to test keyless before purchase. It doesn't work at all. It's not intermittent, and it doesn't work on the trunk, which leads me to believe it's not a corrosion problem as most threads indicate. Keyless start does work which is weird. Locking/unlocking with the buttons works also. Anybody have any ideas?

 

If I'm not mistaken, it's possible one of the previous owners had the feyfob with the keyless button programmed for your car even though your car is not equipped with the keyless start option. I could be wrong. Do you have another key fob? If so, does it have the same buttons? Take it over to your local dealership and have them check it out. My local dealership wouldn't charge me a dime to examine this kind of problem. They the only ones with the computer access to reprogram keys too. At least in my experience. That's why I alway have a backup set in my safe.
