2015 V60 t5 premiere Curt trailer hitch install
I just installed a Curt 2 inch class 3 hitch on my early 2015 V60 this weekend and was impressed at how easy it was. Although the instructions said it was ranked as difficult it was pretty easy. On the curt website it showed that it would fit, however Amazon (where I ordered it) said it wouldn't fit. I did have to use the included spacers. Beyond it being heavy and cumbersome I was able to install it by myself. I have yet to install the wire harness but will make a video and review that as well once I do. I just called uhaul and was quoted $294.95 for this hitch installed (it was 119 on amazon). With the wire harness installed it would be a total of $444.90) (wire harness was $39 on amazon) If you have any questions please let me know.
I couldn't upload the time lapse video directly to the forum but it is view able on my Amazon review.

Hitch wiring
now that it’s installed, does your auto Stop/start stay unavailable while a trailer is hooked up to the electrical connection? I’m asking because the owners manual says the stop/start won’t work if trailer wiring is connected and detected. I’m looking to do this installation as a work around to the auto stop/start and disabling it by attaching a connection to simulate it being hooked up.

Start-Stop
The first thing I do after starting (2015.5 V60) is reach down and turn off the Start/Stop function. #1 I prefer to control engine availability and #2 even if there is a minor increase in fuel consumption, I very much doubt that it would offset the expense arising from battery wear and the potential maintenance of the starter motor/drive running 5?,10? 20? times more frequently than it would under normal operation.

Just posted on a similar thread, but noticed this one has much more input so trying here. I installed the factory module and wiring harness on my V60CC and have functioning trailer brake lights, but the turning signals don't seem to be working. I'm wondering if this is because I did not get the software updated. Can any of you semi pros confirm?

MT6127 - thanks for the comment. I don't quite understand what you mean about signal on the directional's leads. Are you suggesting that the male end of car's harness are not fully plugged into the module? I think grounding should be OK since the brake lights seem to work. I'll take another look and snap a photo.

the harness to the trailer will have wire leads for the brakes, left signal, right signal, ground and running lights. Some harnesses also have an extra lead for back up lights. You need to look at the harness's pin out and test for voltage on the pins for the directionals. Check out etrailer.com as they have a lot of vehicle specific content on line and sell Curt hitches and wiring kits.

I did the same install ( module/harness both OEM) and had the software installed by local independent shop. Everything works: Lights, in dash info about trailer being attached except the one thing I need also: power on the 4/7 connector for a wireless brake connector. For some reason even though the cable goes right from the module to the connector, it is dead. Cant find any help or info from Volvo and other than making a bypass power to that cable going to the connector, I will not get this to work.
if there's anyone who has a working brake controller/tow setup, it'd be great to learn how they made it work!
