I'd like a Volvo before the complete body redesign. Is the 2018 Volvo s60 Dynamic a reliable car? What are your experiences thoughts on the 2017-2018 models?

 

I have a 2017 S60 T5 dynamic which I just purchased about 6 months ago. I am very impressed with this car. I've owned 240's (2) and a 94 940 turbo in the past. This is by far the very best Volvo I've ever owned. I only use Shell Nitro V+ premium and I get 27 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. I think if you look up reliability ratings on the net from people like JD Powers etc.... you will find as I did that the S60 is rated well, with very few problems being reported. If you maintain it according to the maintenance schedule, you should be ok. You should buy one that has maintenance records and do a pre buy inspection at the Volvo dealer or independent Volvo shop if possible. Couple of things that I wish were on mine, which you might like to have: LED headlights aka THORS hammer, Blind spot option, and backup camera.

 

Great thanks. The Shell Nitro is what, 93 octane? Do you find it improves speed a bit? I notice, even in my old saab 93, a difference between using 87 and 91. It's quite remarkable.

 

The Shell nitro in southeastern Washington is all 92. Shell says contains no ETOH as well.
