We're in the market for a new Volvo. We're looking at the 2019 Volvo S60 T6 AWD. We've also been eyeing the 2019 Volvo S60 T8 Plug-In Hybrid. We would like to move towards a hybrid S60 and the T8 appears to be a step in that direction. However, after reading reviews such as the following, I'm feeling very hesitant to purchase a T8 - 2019 Volvo S60 T8 Twin Engine Review: Half-Baked Hybrid Shows Volvo Is Miles Behind Electric Car Leaders - The Drive.

Any suggestions on these choices and options?

My suggestion is to take an extended test drive - even see if the deal has a T8 for a loaner or rental and judge the driveability for yourself. I've owned a few cars where the press called out driveability nits but after owning the car I forgot about them and enjoyed the ride.

 

We just purchased our 2019 S60 T8 R-Design in Fusion Red just over a month ago. It's my wife's car and she was coming out of a 2013 Tesla Model S. She doesn't typically drive too far from home but does do quite a few miles. For fun I wanted to see how long we could go on a tank of gas but after 1000 miles and over one month, I thought it would be a good idea to refresh the gas. We drove over 1000 miles and still had over 1/4 of a tank left of our first fill. We averaged 83.8 MPG for that first month. My wife hasn't gotten gas for her car since April of 2013 because she drove a Tesla. This car is amazing and we are thrilled of our purchase.
