After a long debate on what the next family vehicle will be. The trigger was pulled on the V60 T8 Crystal White after a pleasant drive in the Ultimate. The love for a wagon was the ultimate choice and the performance spec in the T8. Coming from German and Japanese vehicles.

I do have some questions regarding the actual purchase. Considering I have some time prior to coming close to delivery.

Prepaid Maintenance - Any wiggle room here in terms of pricing. To me it seems like a good idea without knowing what the average cost of ownership is for these cars.​

Extended Warranty - To me it is worth it "IF" Volvo is the one providing this and if I can get 10 years. Considering I am in Canada. Anyone one have a general idea of this pricing?​

Reliability - Any car is reliable for a price. However, are there any issues with owning this a 10 year plus car?​

Concerns? - Is there anything I should be aware of in regards to this whole process?​

The goal is to have a reliable and fun car to drive that isn't a nightmare to own. I am thankful that we'll be in the 2024 queue as I hear some additional features are being introduced and most (if any) issues have been resolved.

I appreciate any input/insight you all may have.

 

Prepaid Maintenance - You just pay for all your vehicle service ahead of time using the car loan (if you take one out). This doesn't save you any money and restricts you to the dealership for maintenance otherwise you are essentially paying twice. Not worth it in my opinion, but I do my own work on my cars. Could be different depending on the model and what-not. Also, if you sell the car, I am pretty sure you end up just losing out on any maintenance not yet done. I could be wrong though. I also do not know a lot about the maintenance on hybrid vehicles.

Extended Warranty - My 10 year unlimited mile bumper-to-bumper warranty was $3300(USD). I own a 2018 Volvo s60 T5 awd. My buddy was checking out a 2021 S90 T6R and the warranty was $3500 and they wouldn't budge. A good peace of mind and I highly recommend. They only offer this if you finance through them I believe. You can refinance anytime you want though and keep it. It is also transferable. Don't get to set on that price though, it does vary between dealerships and Year/make/model.

Can't speak too much on reliability and concerns.
